Reducing the Risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
The Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) course explores the risk factors associated with SIDS and provides caregivers with information to improve the health and safety of infants and reduce the risk of SIDS. The goal of this course is to help caregivers reduce the number of SIDS deaths through consistent implementation of risk reduction strategies, and to increase awareness of SIDS in the community. This course is designed for day care workers, parents, grandparents, baby sitters and other individuals who provide care to infants.
Featured Course - Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Training
The goal if this course is to provide daycare providers with the training necessary to effectively understand Shaken Baby Syndrome and more importantly to learn how to prevent it's occurrence. Additionally the course will provide students with the knowledge necessary to recognize when Shaken Baby Syndrome has occurred and how to deal with it. Lastly, this course provides reference documentation to reinforce the concepts learned that the student can print and keep.
This online course was designed using the state required Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention curriculum & resources and effective 9/7/2007 is approved by the DHFS for use with new hires when a group training option is not available. This course is also a great way for "new" parents as well as "experienced" parents to learn about Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention and can be used as a refresher or for inservice purposes for all Caregivers.
